Rwanda Genocide

Rwanda Genocide, Kigali, Rwanda – 2017. After completing a two week Habitat for Humanity Global Village Build in Zambia I traveled to Kigali, Rwanda so that I could drive to Uganda to do a Mountain Gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. I spent a couple of days in Kigali and did some touring around the city which included visiting two sites associated with the 1994 Genocide. The first site was the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre which is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi. The second site was where 10 Belgian UN Peacekeepers were tortured and hacked to death during the first days if the genocide.
